握著小姐的手,好像回到了十八九;握著小姨的手,後悔當年拉錯手;
握著情人的手,一股暖流上心頭;握著女同學的手,後悔當初沒下手;
握著老婆的手,猶如左手握右手。
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” 生命不是等待暴風雨過去,而是要學會在雨中舞蹈。
“If you don’t want to do something, you can always find an excuse (or thousands of excuses), and if you really want to do something, you can always find a way (or hundreds of ways). 如果你不想做一件事,你就能找到幾千個藉口。如果你很想做一件事,你就能找到幾百個方法。
It is the effort and intention that counts, not the results. 只問耕耘,不問收穫。
Where there is a Will, there is a Way. 有志者事竟成。

Others can only give you hints or suggestions, but can’t force you to do anything or do anything for you. 你可以引導一隻馬到水邊,但你不能強迫牠喝水。比喻人人都有自由意志。如果你不行動,就沒有人能幫助你。[師父領進門,修行在個人。佛不度無緣的人。 佛不度人,人自度。]
“The way to Enlightenment is simply that of surrendering the barriers that preclude the state of Realization. The personal self (ego), therefore, does not become enlightened but instead falls away and is replaced by the previously obscured Reality of the True Self.” 要見性,只須排除障礙 (去除妄想、分別、執著)。因此見性不是把自我(小我)修成真我,而是將障礙真我的煩惱障、所知障斷除,自行的光輝自然顯現。 (就如雲散日出) 。
“To fully ‘know’ a reality is to be It, which is a transformative absorption and full integration” 要真正瞭解諸法實相,心性要能跟法界融合在一起。(要真的知道貓是什麼,就要心性與貓融合在一起。)
“Give one man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a life time. The motto is: don’t just give food or clothes to the poor, teach them the skill. It also means that, doctors just cure our illness, but meditation and exercise teaches us how to stay health and peaceful all our life. 與人以魚,不如以漁。意思是說,送人一條魚,餵飽他一天。教他捕魚,可養他一生。譬喻,施捨衣食是下策,教他生活的技能才是上上策。也譬喻要強身與日子過得快樂,不是找醫生吃補藥,而是要運動和修心養性。

讀(佛不度人,人自度)感想:因為佛本身是料理全宇宙所有一切事相,個人對佛本身而言所占的分量,論體積有如一微塵,論立場如微小極微小零件供給佛組裝變化,所以原則上佛平等看待一切,不會特別對待人。但因人能開發潛在智慧,明白佛(自性)料理全宇宙的心意,因此能自在快樂的任由佛組裝變化。
讀(見性不是把自我修成真我)感想:這句話點出了為何學佛學習了很久,還是在原地踏步,未能往明心見性的主因,『自我』若界定為求生存的我,那麼『真我』就可界定為求自在的我。所以自我.真我;是兩碼事。但又是兩碼一體。
